Den Of Laughs was founded in September 2021, our first show was at The Barge Inn, Long Eaton. We started as a free entry / pay what you want gig, a model we continue to use at the Barge.
Our founder and resident MC is Denzil de Cristo, he’s friendly, quick witted and loves puns.
In 2024 we opened a new venue – Beeston Victory Club, did a comedy night around a campfire in Lincolnshire, and hosted 27 shows at Nottingham Comedy Festival (one fifth of the festival).
2025 looks like a big year, we’re hosting 30 shows at Leicester Comedy Festival, and another 20 at Ram Comedy Festival, Derby, as well as returning to Nottingham
Each gig is different. The Barge is where established acts can do new material, and newer acts can cut their teeth, with a professional comedian headlining.
Victory Club has professional comedians opening and closing the shows, and established acts doing their best 15 minutes in the middle sections.
